Thought Of The Day!

If you are not happy, then you need to change! Do whatever it takes and #justdoit!
So the main reason why I’m making this the thought of the day, is because it’s what I’m doing.
Almost a year ago I went on a journey for 3 days to Atlanta with 2 friends. We went to the WordCamp Atlanta WordPress Conference. While I learned a lot at the event, the most important part of the trip for me what the last 2 hours in the car before I got back to my house.
I talked with my friend/mentor Mickey Trivett (WebCoUSA, BluntFeedback, HireCHO) and realized that I was not happy. I’m not going to fill you in on the entire conversation but it was one of the deepest personal conversations I had all year.
As we were talking I remembered the thing Gary Vaynerchuk is always talking about: “Self Awareness”. So that night I decided to do what Gary said to do!
I made a list of family members, friends, prior and present clients and called all of them and asked them questions to better understand myself.
While it may sound weird. It truly changed my life.
Before I get into the questions I want to be 100% honest with you…
This was one of the hardest things to do in my entire life!
While you may think you can handle it, after a few people answer, you may find some things about yourself that disgust you.
So… The Questions…
Well, there is a statement I made to preface the questions to make sure the person I was asking understood how important it was to be blunt and honest.
“I need you to be completely honest and blunt. If it is going to make me cry then please say it cause that means I need to hear it.”
Crazy, I know, but it get’s the point across.
What do you think is my greatest strength?
What do you think is my greatest weakness?
Those two questions I asked everyone. Then I added more for me to ask my past and present clients.
What is/was the best thing about working with me?
What is/was the worst thing about working with me?
Based on what you know about me and my business what recommendations would you give me to be better?
Those 5 questions told me that I NEEDED TO CHANGE!
I set my goals and made plans and started the process. I knew what I was working on and moving toward was going to be a massive battle.
But, Frank Kern taught me one important thing, “if you want anything in life you have to determine the cost in acquiring it and PAY IT WILLINGLY!”
So here we are. Making changes and focusing on my pursuit of happiness!

Today I Am Grateful For... Supportive Friends & Family.
Let’s be honest, having complete support from friends and family is amazing but it is not always there. I’ve had enough nonsupportive friends and family over the years that I can see the true supportive friends and family a lot easier. Thank all of you for your continued support over the years as I continue through this crazy journey!
